CHARLES TAN,
Chair & Non-Independent Director

Charles Tan is long term member of CETDEM. Before he retired, he was the Chief Information Officer of a large Malaysian Banking Group. He has worked primarily with Banks & Financial Institutions and this includes 17 years as a Management Consultant with a global Consultancy. He has extensive technology related experience as well as operations management. His fields of interest are Climate Change, Energy and Organic Farming. He has been a member of CETDEM’s Board of Directors since 1993, and previously held the role of the Chair (2000 – Dec 2006).

NOOR MOHAMED B. MOHAMED HANIBA,
Deputy Chairperson and non-Independent Director

Noor Mohamed graduated from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) with Bac. Sc. (Hons) (Chemistry). He was initially attached to Center for Environmental Technologies and Natural Resources Management (CETNaRM). He has been involved in research and consultancy works especially in the field of waste management and energy i.e. Climate Change and Clean Development Mechanism. He served many ministries and other leading organizations namely EPU, DANIDA, Ministry of Housing and Local Government (MHLG), UNDP and many more.


He wrote and presented (locally and internationally) about 30 papers and received training in solid waste management, pollution control management, energy management and environmental management system. He is also a member to Charted Institution of Waste Management (CIWM), United Kingdom.

DATO' DR. NADZRI YAHAYA,
Independent Director

Graduated from USM with B.Sc (Biology) in 1982 and completed his Master and PhD from University of Nottingham UK and University of Wales Cardiff in 1992 and 2000 respectively. Started his career in the Administrative and Diplomatic Service at the Ministry of Finance in 1984 and later served the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment from 1993 -2007. He became the 1st Director General of the Department of National Solid Waste Management, KPKT from July 2007 until July 2014. He was appointed as the Deputy Secretary General Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water in July 2014 –until May 2016. Before his retirement in May, 2017, he served as Deputy Secretary General, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Now he is active in the private sector serving as Chairman or Board of Directors in several companies such as Samaiden Group Bhd, Greenviro Solutions Sdn Bhd, Minconsult Sdn Bhd, Global Tunikara and Environmental Preservation and Innovation Centre Sdn Bhd. He is the current Chairman of AECCOM ( Association of Environmental Consultants and Companies of Malaysia.

DR. GARY WILLIAM THESEIRA,
Independent Director

Gary Theseira is a Director and Council Member of Climate Governance Malaysia (CGM), the Malaysian chapter of the World Economic Forum's Climate Governance Initiative (WEF-CGI). He is also an adjunct faculty member of the Asia School of Business, in collaboration with MIT Sloan Management, where he lectures on Sustainability, Climate change, and Climate Risk Management.

Adrian Yeo,
Independent Director

Adrian has been active in engaging local environment, energy and resource campaigns. In 2009 Adrian was hired by YOUNGO as the Youth Logistics Coordinator at UNFCCC’s COP15 in Copenhagen, and actively participated at various UNFCCC meetings. Adrian is a past president of Raleigh International Kuala Lumpur, a mentor and an official presenter of Al Gore's The Climate Reality Project (TCRP). He is a participant of 350.org's Global Power Shift, and founder of #PowerShiftMsia, #MYD, #KampusSarap and #KemSolusi, a movement to catalyze youth for a bold climate action. He has served as the Special Functions Officer to the Minister of Water, Land and Natural Resources (KATS). Adrian is now providing consulting to multinationals organisations on environment, climate change and natural resources management policies.


DR. ZELINA ZAITON IBRAHIM,
non-Independent Director

Dr. Zelina Zaiton Ibrahim is an environmental scientist and former lecturer with Universiti Putra Malaysia with more than 40 years’ experience in catchment, lake, estuarine and coastal processes. Recently she was a Coordinating Lead Author for Chapter 16: Key Risks across Sectors and Regions, of the Working Group II (Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability) Contribution to the Intergovernmental Panel (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report. From 2014 to 2019, she served as international Vice-Chair of Sub-Committee 7 (SC 7) on Greenhouse Gas Management and Related Activities under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee 207 (TC 207) on Environmental Management.

DR. HARI RAMALU RAGAVAN,
Independent Director

Dr. Hari Ramalu Ragavan has 25 years of experience in sustainability management and policy in Malaysia and Asia Pacific. He worked at University Malaya, Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers, Centre For Environmental Technologies (CETEC), and served the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei Darussalam as Programme Manager from 2004 till 2015. Dr. Hari is currently the Principal Consultant at AKAR ASIA Consulting. He has advised UNDP, World Bank, USAID, UNIDO, UNEP and ADB in Thailand, Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea, Cambodia, Philippines, Nepal, Myanmar, Timor Leste and Vietnam as well as Malaysia in the areas of climate change and nature ecosystems management, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) involving communities, private sector and local governments. He also provides advisory services to the private sector on corporate sustainability, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework and focus areas. He is a HRDC certified Trainer, a Certified Expert in Sustainable Finance (CESFi) (Frankfurt School) and AA1000 Certified Sustainability Assurance Practitioner. He is a board member of Asia Pacific Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production, an exco member of the Environmental Management and Research Association of Malaysia, a board member of the Malaysian Evaluation Society, and member of the Industry Expert Committee (IEC) Sustainability under Human Resource Development Corp (HRDCorp).
